1 killed, 2 injured in SW Pakistan attack

One man was killed and two others were injured in a hand grenade attack in the capital city Quetta of Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province, police said.

The incident happened on Thursday when an unidentified attacker hurled the hand grenade at a shop selling flags and badges for the forthcoming Independence Day of Pakistan, the Quetta police said in a statement.

Three people got injured in the attack, one of whom later succumbed to injuries at the hospital, the police added.

The area was cordoned off for investigation by the police and a case had been lodged against the unidentified assailant who field the scene, following the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
