London, (UNI): The London Metropolitan Police has sent a questionnaire to Prime Minister Boris Johnson as part of the inquiry into parties held at Downing Street and Whitehall during the Covid lockdowns last year, BBC reported on Saturday.
This was confirmed by No 10 and added that he would “respond as required”.
The Police are also sending the questionnaire in this regard to more than 50 people.
According to reports the questionnaires ask what exactly happened and must be answered truthfully including the account and explanation of the recipient’s participation in an event within seven days”.
The questionnaire has the same status as information given in an interview under caution.
Prime Minister Johnson has come under increased pressure over allegations of throwing parties at 10 Downing Street in violation of lockdown rules.
Several Tory backbenchers have called for him to resign and have submitted letters of no confidence against his leadership.
Johnson has apologised “for the things we simply didn’t get right” over the party row and said he was looking forward to the police investigation.

Munich Security Conference losing objectivity: Russia
Moscow, Feb 12 (UNI/Sputnik) The Munich Security Conference is still in demand but it turns into a one-opinion club due to the loss of objectivity, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Sputnik.
“I do not think that the Munich Security Conference is losing its significance as a discussion platform. No. It is still interesting and in demand. However, it becomes less in demand for us because it is losing objectivity. It is turning into a one-opinion club,” Peskov said.
According to the spokesman, the Munich Security Conference ceases to be a discussion club.
