Two suspected jihadists were arrested from Assam's Guwahati and Kokrajhar districts with police recovering arms and ammunition from their possession, officials today said.
The police apprehended Pota Miyan, stated to be a fundamentalist, from here during a raid yesterday, IGP Dr L R Bishnoi said.
Pota Miyan hailed from Tulsibeel in Kokrajhar district.
In another raid, policemen of Chirang and Kokrajhar districts nabbed fundamentalist cadres Jahidul Islam from Gossaigaon, Bishnoi said.
One 7.65 factory made pistol with two live rounds was recovered from him, he said.
Jahidul was instrumental in setting up of the jihadi training camp busted by police at Daukhanagar under Dhaligaon PS in Chirang district last year, the IGP added.(PTI)
