Pakistani security forces killed nine terrorists Wednesday night in an intelligence-based operation conducted in Bajaur district of the country’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, military said on Thursday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, said that security forces launched the operation on the reported presence of terrorists, leading to an intense exchange of fire.
The ISPR added that security personnel effectively engaged in a hideout and killed nine terrorists, including two suicide bombers and a ring leader of the terrorist group.
“A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from killed Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as innocent civilians,” added the military.
“A clearance operation was started to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area,” said the ISPR, adding that the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.
