Rajya Sabha MP of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Sanjay Singh was on Wednesday produced before an MP-MLA court to record his statement in almost 16-year-old case, prosecution sources said here.
Prosecution sources as the AAP MP Sanjay Singh was produced in the MP-MLA court of Special Judge Yogesh Yadav where his statement was recorded in the case lodged in 2008.
Singh’s counsel Madan Singh said that after recording the statement of AAP MP the court has fixed February 14 as the next date of hearing. It may be noted that Sanjay Singh was not appearing before the court even after repeated reminders.
The court has written letters to the Tihar jail authorities and the organisation concerned in this regard several times. It may be mentioned that in 2008 a ‘Dera Dalo, Gherao Dalo’ agitation was launched against the policies of the then Bahujan Samaj Party government in which Singh along with 97 others was booked.
Earlier, the AAP MP was brought to Sultanpur by train from Tihar Jail amidst tight security arrangements. As he arrived at the railway station the AAP workers and leaders raised anti-government slogans.
