The Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case against, Naib Tehsildar (Election) posted at the Deputy District Election Office, Rajouri, for allegedly amassing assets beyond his known sources of income.
According to an official statement issued to news agency KINS, the case has been registered under FIR No. 05/2025 under Section 5(1)(e) read with 5(2) of the J&K Prevention of Corruption Act, Svt. 2006, at Police Station ACB Doda.
The action follows a detailed verification conducted by the Bureau into allegations that Singh had accumulated huge movable and immovable assets in his name and in the names of his family members.
The inquiry revealed possession of a double-storey house in District Ramban, substantial bank deposits and fixed deposits, LIC policies, a Swift car, as well as luxurious household items, electronic gadgets, and jewellery.
Preliminary findings indicated that the value of the assets and expenditure incurred were grossly disproportionate to his legitimate income.
Following the registration of the case, ACB obtained search warrants from the Court of the Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Doda, and conducted searches at Singh’s properties located at Maitra (Ramban), Janipur (Jammu), and DC Colony (Rajouri) in the presence of magistrates and independent witnesses.
The investigation is currently underway, and further details are awaited.(KINS)
