Srinagar, (UNI) Indian army conducted a ‘Khariyat Patrol’ and a Medical checkup camp for villagers living near the Line of Control(LoC) in Kupwara district on Saturday.
Srinagar based Defence spokesman said, the Army carried out ‘Khariyat Patrol’ and Medical checkup in remote villages of Kamkari and Kaiyan near the LoC amid extreme cold weather conditions, providing basic healthcare and medical supplies at the people’s door steps.
Indian Army medical officer and the medical team provided basic medicines to the villagers. Men, women and children, as well as senior citizens attended the ‘Khariyat patrol’.
People living in these villages have no medical or health care facility available in the vicinity and are dependent on the Army. The nearest healthcare center is at Batpura and takes five hours of travel from the LoC. The LoC residents have to reach this center even for small medical assistance.
People living in both the villages appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army.
