Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday alleged that Army men “stormed” into a mosque in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district and “forced” Muslims to “chant” Jai Shri Ram.
There is no word from the Army about the serious allegations leveled by the former chief minister.
A defence official, however, said the facts are being ascertained.
Mufti took to social media and termed it an “act of provocation”.
“Shocked to hear about army troops from 50 RR storming into a mosque at Pulwama & forcing muslims inside to chant ‘Jai Shree Ram’. Such a move when @AmitShah
is here & that too ahead of yatra is simply an act of provocation.,,” she tweeted.
She also requested the Army to immediately set up a probe.
“Request @RgGhai (apparently tagging Army’s GOC Chinar Corps unverified account) to immediately set up a probe,” she added.
