Around 40 huts gutted in Delhi fire of Jamia Nagar

New Delhi, April 25 (UNI) A fire broke out in hutments near Batla House of Jamia Nagar, Delhi Fire Service said on Monday. The casualties were mostly livestocks.
Domestic articles caught fire. A total of 11 fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the blaze.All people living in the small quarters were rescued, said DFS.

The DFS said it received a fire call at around 3:15pm regarding the fire in the jhuggies at Joga Bai Extension.

The fire was brought under control at around 4:40pm.
No human casualty was reported from there, but some domestic animals were charred to death, said DFS.
“Fire is now under control and no casualty has been reported there,” said DFS chief Atul Garg.

It was the second major fire incident within 24 hours, after on Sunday, a fire broke out in Railway godown at Sabji Mandi, near Pratap Nagar Metro Station.Goods and properties were destroyed.
