Awareness Camps on HADP, eNAM, CSSs PMFME Scheme Held in Baramulla, Kulgam

One-day awareness programs on Holistic Agricultural Development Program (HADP), Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME), eNAM and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs) were held on Saturday at Ruhama, Baramulla and Fruit Mandi Kulgam.

On the occasion, Deputy Director Kashmir Nahida Mir was the chief guest. The event was attended by Area Marketing Officer Bilal Ahmad Sofi, who apprised the participants about the Departmental activities.

A large gathering of people was present on the occasion including Farmers, Traders, PRIs, multiple Business Unit Holders of the area interested in upgrading their existing units/setting up new units, etc.

Besides, Officers of the Horticulture Production Department, Agriculture Department, and others were also present at the event.

The experts from different allied departments deliberated on the schemes pertaining to the Horticulture Sector in detail.

In order to accomplish the objective of a self-reliant India (AatmaNirbar Bharat), people were informed about the government’s provision of 50% subsidy under HADP program and the Ministry of Food Processing Industries provides financial, technical and marketing support to upgrade the existing micro-food processing units/establish new units under PMFME thereby integrating around two lac micro-food processing enterprises in the unorganized sector with the formal supply chain.

The participants were also informed about different requirements/formalities of the project under the said scheme like financial assistance, technical knowledge, and preparation of DPRs were discussed threadbare with the participants.

The educated unemployed youth were urged to set up their own micro-food processing units and avail of credit linked subsidy of 35% of the eligible project cost with a maximum ceiling of Rs 10.00 lac per unit and interest subvention of 3% available under the scheme.

Besides, a similar program was held at Fruit Mandi Kulgam in which a large gathering of people took part and were enlightened about different schemes.

In the program, Chief Agricultural Officer Riyaz Ahmad, Chief Horticulture Officer Liyakat Ali Khan, Industrial Officer DIC Kulgam Shugufta Jan, and Planning and Marketing Officer Anantnag Dr Mudasir Iqbal were present.

During the event, Area Marketing Officer (P&M) Mohammad Arif shed light on the different schemes and informed people about the process to avail of them.

In the end, on-spot assistance was provided to the beneficiaries to register them under the different schemes.
