Awareness programme on Mental Health and Drug addiction organized at St Joseph School B’la

An Awareness program on Internet addiction and Mental Health was organized by Civil defence Baramulla in collaboration with YBPF (Trust) held at St. Joseph’s Hr. Secondary School Baramulla.

A large number of students including principal, teachers Civil defence volunteers and SDRF team Baramulla participated in this program. Students were also given a self-administered internet addiction test questionnaire.

Chief Warden Civil defence Baramulla who was also chief guest and resource person highlighted the growing menace of internet addiction, he expressed concern upon the growing rate of youth towards internet gaming addiction leading to health problems, social disfunction and academic distraction. He advised disciplined use of screen, electronic gadgets. Children upto the age of 7 years and said children should not be given mobile phones as a source of entertainment. He advised enhancing of responsible parenting skills. The program was concluded with a vote of thanks from students and principal of the institution.
