Netflix has unveiled the gripping trailer for its upcoming supernatural thriller Baramulla, offering a haunting glimpse into a mystery set against the misty, snow-laden valleys of Kashmir.
Sharing the trailer on Netflix’s Instagram handle, the caption read, “In this town, nothing is as it seems. Enter the world of ‘Baramulla’, out 7 November.”
Directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale, the film stars Manav Kaul and Bhasha Sumbli in lead roles. The story revolves around DSP Ridwaan Shafi Sayyid (Kaul), who is dispatched to the town of Baramulla to investigate a series of mysterious child disappearances.
As he moves there with his wife Gulnaar (Sumbli) and their two children, unsettling events begin to unfold in their home — footsteps echo in the night, whispers fill the silence, and an inexplicable scent of a dog lingers where none exists. What begins as a straightforward police inquiry quickly spirals into a chilling and deeply personal psychological nightmare.
Director Aditya Jambhale shared, “With the trailer, we wanted to offer just a glimpse into the eerie world of Baramulla. The film begins as a mystery thriller but gradually dives into something more emotional and psychological. It’s not only about the fear that hides in the shadows, but also the fear that lives inside us.”
Speaking about his connection to the film, Manav Kaul said, “Being a Kashmiri from Baramulla myself, this story felt like destiny. It gave me a chance to portray the valley with honesty, sincerity, and affection.
Working with Netflix, Jio Studios, and B62 Studios helped bring this world to life with remarkable authenticity.”
Alongside Kaul and Sumbli, the film also stars Arista Mehta and Rohaan Singh in key roles. The screenplay is penned by Aditya Dhar, Aditya Suhas Jambhale, and Monal Thaakar.
Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Baramulla is set to premiere on Netflix on November 7.
