Jalna, (UNI): Considering the steady rise in COVID-19 cases, Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope on Monday directed the Jalna administration to be ready for tackling the third wave.
Also Jalna Guardian Minister, Mr Tope gave the instruction while speaking at a COVID review meeting held earlier in the day.
The minister cautioned, “Although, Jalna presently has 161 active cases, all the Dedicated COVID Care Centres(DCCs) as well as the District Hospitals should be equipped for dealing with sudden COVID spurt.”
Speaking about the present health infrastructure, he said, “There are 591 beds with oxygen facilities, 132 without oxygen facilities and 232 with ICU facilities. As of now, a total of 947 beds are available at the DCCs and district hospitals”.
Taking private and government hospitals’ resources into account, the minister apprised that another 1,849 beds are available at these facilities.
Lastly, he asked the operationalisation of the dormant DCCs and ramp up pandemic testing while simultaneously speeding the vaccination drive.
