In the District Development Council elections held to fulfill the dream of Three Tier Panchayati Raj system in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP scripted a new history after organizing as many as 450 political rallies to garner the public support.

The party superseded its previous records in parliamentary elections with the highest number of rallies in DDC elections followed by deputing as many as 19 star campaigners of the party from Delhi.

After finishing election campaigning, Anurag Thaukar, who was in charge of the elections in Jammu and Kashmir, J&K BJP in-charge Tarun Chugh, co-in-charge of campaigning and former Union Minister Shahnawaz Hussain and Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh returned to Delhi.

Returning to Delhi, Anurag Thakur said that the people in Jammu and Kashmir have trusted the democracy with overwhelming participation in the election process.

“The Central leadership has expressed confidence in the policies of the BJP, with a large number of votes cast to strengthen its roots. In such a situation, lotus will bloom in Kashmir and Jammu province. The party will win with a strong majority.”

He said that people voted this time to oust out the traditional political parties like NC and PDP which encouraged corruption and nepotism that fuelled terrorism in Kashmir.

On November 28, the BJP had stepped up the massive campaigning for the DDC elections in the state. Union ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Smriti Irani, Anurag Thakur, Jitendra Singh, Kishanpal Gurjar, General VK Singh and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur campaigned in Jammu Kashmir tirelessly.
