Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav while remembering the slogan of ‘British Quit India’ by the freedom fighters on the occasion of August Kranti Diwas on Tuesday said: “Today he gives a new slogan ‘Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) quit Uttar Pradesh.”
Addressing a gathering to commemorate ‘Quit India Movement’ started on August 9 in 1942 , Akhilesh on the occasion of August Kranti Diwas compared the BJP government with British rule. “On this day while starting the ‘Quit India Movement’ the freedom fighters gave the slogan of British Quit India. Today, I give a new slogan of BJP Quit UP,” he said.
Launching the party’s campaign to hoist tricolour on every house in Jhauwa village in Kannauj, he appealed to the people to hoist the national flag in every house on Independence Day. He said that BJP has given the slogan of Har Ghar Tiranga, but the BJP government should also remember the promise of providing the right price of the food grain.
Akhilesh said that ‘this is the same BJP, which never put the Indian flag before’. “Those, who are taking tricolour to every house, once opposed it. He attacked the central government and said that BJP leaders say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ in their every speech and now their government has outsourced the Army.
He said that since the SP decided to organise the programme in Jhauwa village in Kannauj, BJP people have started searching for it. “Now these people have got an opportunity to offer flowers in the honor of freedom fighters of Jhauwa village. Whether BJP people get this village on the map or not, but this village is totally Samajwadi,” he said.
