BSF seize 2.6kg of heroin from Amritsar sector

Border Security Force (BSF) foiled the attempt of Pakistan smugglers of sending drugs to Indian territory using drones and recovered two packets of contraband suspected to be heroin weighing 2.6 kg from near the fields of village RattanKhurd in Amritsar.

A spokesperson of the Punjab Frontier Headquarter of the BSF here on Saturday said that the BSF troops heard the buzzing sound of a drone following which the troops reacted and fired upon the flying object. During search of the area conducted early today recovered the said amount of drugs.

In another incident the troops deployed in the depth area in the village of Udhar Dhariwal in Amritsar district, the troops heard the loud noise of a flying object and as per the laid down drill, the troops reacted immediately to intercept the same. During search of the area conducted by the troops, a black colored drone in partially broken condition was recovered.

Value of the heroin seized is said to be Rs 13 crore in the international market.
