The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu and Kashmir on Monday convened a strategic meeting at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, to chalk out an extensive political and mass outreach roadmap centred on the Union Budget 2026 presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
The meeting was presided over by BJP J&K General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul and was attended by senior party leaders, state office bearers, morcha heads, cell convenors and key organisational functionaries. BJP J&K General Secretaries Sanjita Dogra and Gopal Mahajan, along with other senior leaders, actively participated in the deliberations.
Addressing the gathering, Ashok Koul said the Union Budget 2026 clearly reflects the Narendra Modi-led government’s firm resolve to accelerate India’s growth while ensuring that development reaches every section of society. He described the Budget as a visionary document that strengthens economic resilience, promotes inclusive growth and reinforces transparency and good governance.
Koul said the Budget, presented on February 1, lays special emphasis on infrastructure development, social security, employment generation and empowerment of the poor, youth, farmers and women. He called upon party leaders and activists to share reports of live Budget-viewing programmes organised across districts and urged them to equip themselves with facts to counter misinformation.
Informing that the BJP is organising a series of public engagement programmes titled “Budget Par Charcha” across Jammu and Kashmir from February 2 to February 15, Koul said these initiatives aim to directly connect citizens with the benefits of the Budget.
“This Union Budget proves that the Modi government stands firmly with the people and works for inclusive prosperity, not political appeasement. It strengthens the foundation of a developed India while empowering the last person in the queue,” he said.
Ashok Koul stressed that party morchas and cells must act as frontline ambassadors of the Budget by engaging directly with beneficiaries and common citizens. He directed leaders to disseminate Budget highlights through press briefings, public meetings and door-to-door campaigns, while instructing media and social media teams to ensure sustained and effective outreach.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjita Dogra said the Union Budget reflects the Modi government’s sensitivity to grassroots aspirations and that its strong focus on social welfare and economic empowerment would significantly benefit Jammu and Kashmir.
Gopal Mahajan added that the Budget opens new avenues for growth and self-reliance and urged party cadres to carry its positive message to every household.(KINS)
