The Crime Branch (CB), Jammu, has charge-sheeted a habitual imposter for preparing and forging priority letters of former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mehbooba Mufti with the intention to procuring helicopter tickets from the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVSB).
The imposter, Sandeep Koul, was earlier charge-sheeted for faking the signature of late Foreign Minister of India Sushma Swaraj.
Koul owns Desh Pradesh Tour and Travels Agency at Shastri Nagar, Jammu, at present in house number 397, Sector 4 Channi Himmat, Jammu. The action was taken after a written complaint of Khalid Jahangir, Additional Secretary to the Government of J&K, Home Department, to the CB wherein it was alleged that some fraudulent person had prepared a fake demi-official (DO) letter purportedly under the fake and forged signatures of the then Chief Minister of J&K, seeking favour, in the shape of arranging helicopter tickets for his clients to perform the darshan of Vaishno Devi holy cave on April 27 and 28, 2017.
The CB, Jammu, said, “Electronic trails were tracked to solve the case. Documentary, oral, electronic and scientific evidences helped investigating officer establish the charges of preparing fake priority letters using these as genuine with criminal intention against the accused for fetching more money from the gullible pilgrims.” “Koul is a notorious hardcore criminal with past bad conduct. Twelve years ago, his father disowned him from ancestral property rights,” the CB mentioned in its press release-TNS
