Clashes In Kakapora After Angry Youths Hurl Rocks At Police Post

Massive clashes erupted in Kakapora area of Pulwama district of south Kashmir on Monday against the killings of two civilians in alleged police and army firing yesterday.

Reports said that the youths angered over the killings hurled rocks at the police post in Kakapora, following which the cops fired tear gas shells.

Defying curfew-like restrictions, the youth staged massive protests in the area.

Danish Farooq, 19 and Shaista Hamid, 22 were killed after forces fired at civilians protesting the death of a militant in an encounter at Kakapora yesterday afternoon.

The clashes were going on between the protesters and forces when the reports last came in.(Agencies)
