Cop Flees With Rifle In Srinagar

A special police officer (SPO) on Saturday decamped with the service rifle of a constable from a police station here.
"SPO Riyaz Ahmad Saturday morning decamped with the service rifle (AK-47) of constable Showkat Ahmad from Rainawari police station, a senior police officer told IANS in Srinagar.
"Riyaz Ahmad originally belongs to Khansahib area in Badgam district. An FIR was registered in addition to the departmental inquiry," he added.
This was the second incident in 2016, earlier on January 16, a cop decamped with four rifles from the residence of a top-ranking police officer in south Kashmir.(Agencies)
