Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Saturday welcomed the decision to withdraw Rs 2,000 denomination notes after September 30 and said though it is a big step towards a graft-free India, the corrupt are opposed to it.
Talking to reporters, Maurya said that people involved in corruption are most troubled by the decision to withdraw Rs 2,000 denomination notes. “In fact, it is a big step towards a corruption-free India. I
appreciate this decision of PM Modi,” he said
He said that before the Lok Sabha elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got bumper success in UP civic polls.
“This victory has shown that BJP is going to win all the 80 seats in the state in the next year’s Lok Sabha polls,” he said.
On the complaint of irregularities in the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district, the Deputy CM has constituted a task force which will investigate the irregularities in 10 villages.
He said that complaints of irregularities are being received in the Power Corporation where an
inquiry will be conducted and whoever is guilty will be punished.
He said that huge investment is coming in UP, which is a big step in making the state number one in the country.
“Under the leadership of PM Modi, India has succeeded in making a place as the fifth largest
economy. The setting up of the statue of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi in Japan is commendable and it tells the stature of the country in the world,” he said.
Maurya said that a record has already been set by constructing 100 kilometers of road in 100 hours and record works have been done by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) in the last nine years.
