As the threat and fear is looming over the globe in view of present fragile situation and uncertainty among common masses where everyone is in race to save his life. Meanwhile, the people of Kashmir are too going through this fragile phase to combat the global epidemic; however the patients who have been diagnosed with Psychiatrist disorder have once again come under with previous complications of stress, which has been diagnosed earlier by their Psychiatrist doctor.
“I’m afraid when social networking users are only updating the updates related to this podium” said a patient who is diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) – A psychiatrist disorder in which the patient have witnessed some horrific incident which leads them to such level of stress.
Another patient says that during the night he is so scared and only having a nightmare which frightened him. However he said “I have found the remedy as I woke up and offer the prayers after that I feel myself stable and safe”, he said
Meanwhile, the psychiatrists declared it a level of fair and anxiety, which is more vulnerable to such patients, who have diagnosed with stress disorders, Insomnia, and other Psychiatrists illness. Besides some patients feel fever like conditions after sun set, which according to doctors is a condition of physiological fear.
Dr Tasaduk Hussain Itoo, a Physician Consultant says that “There is a panic right now, and patients with such disorder may feel such uncertainty during night hours. However if they are on medication prescribed by their doctor they may take them as per schedule and take an Psychiatrists Counseling, which will help them to come out from this mental trauma”.
Another Psychiatrist doctor who is deputed at a Government hospital in Srinagar says” such patients must avoid watching social networks, but may remain busy with Prayers, Books, and other activities in their homes, and should remain calm and have a hope on Almighty ALLAH, that such environment of distress will get changed.
He further said that we are receiving some calls from such patients, and we advise them with a proper Counseling and we monitor that best results are coming out.
Meanwhile, it has been observed that there are hundreds of such mental illness cases in Kashmir valley who have been going through such disorders due to conflict related incidents. The decade old conflict have already fuelled alarming situation and its rise of unattended mental illness in Kashmir, however the recent years political landscape and present scare has add a lot to this civilian trauma in Kashmir valley.
According to survey by IMHANS a Srinagar based institute of Mental Health and Neuro science who are treating hundreds of patients on routine bases have reported that “one in five people in Kashmir show symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) “as some Psychiatrists here called “Kashmir a saddest place”.
According to a 2015 survey by Medicine Sans Frontiers, nearly 1.8 million adults in Kashmir which is 45% of the population have shown symptoms of mental distress, with 41% of the population showed signs of depression, 26% shows signs of anxiety and 19% showed probable symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Meanwhile, the Chaos and Confusion in Kashmir has deepened the mental health crises here, as conflict related deaths had seen a sharp increase from couple of years, by which the mental health illness seems here in Kashmir as “An undiagnosed trauma” as the local population of Kashmir are living in protracted conflict zone which has shown signs and symptoms of mental illness, with larger extent. The people of Kashmir are more vulnerable to conflict related incidents as the past uncertainty have taken a heavy toll on their mental health illness
