Mumbai, (UNI): Mumbai reported 16, 420 new Covid cases, which is 40 per cent high as compared to the previous day, informed state health Minister Rajesh Tope.
Maharashtra state as a whole reported 46,000 new Covid cases on Thursday.
The minister has appealed to the people to come forward for vaccination.
Meanwhile, 370 police personnel were also reported infected by Covid in the state, health department sources said.
Of total of 2.25 lakh patients, 86 per cent were in home quarantine, following minor symptoms while 14 per cent patients are being treated in hospitals.
Only 0.9 per cent patients are in ICU and 0.32 are on ventilator and 1.89 per cent patients are on oxygen, it added.
