Cricket tournament for specially-abled persons concludes with enthusiasm in Shopian

Under the aegis of the Civic Action Programme (CAP), the J&K Police successfully concluded a Cricket Tournament for Specially-Abled Persons at Batapora Stadium, Shopian. The event, which began on November 10, 2025, culminated today with a vibrant closing ceremony.

The tournament was inaugurated by SSP Shopian, Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary (JKPS). Specially-abled players from various parts of South Kashmir showcased their talent and sportsmanship throughout the competition. The final match was contested between Anantnag Legends and Zaiba Warriors, with Zaiba Warriors securing victory by eight wickets.

During the closing ceremony, SSP Shopian presented cash prizes and trophies to the winners and runners-up. The event witnessed the presence of DySP Headquarters Shopian, DySP DAR Shopian, Probationary DySP, and a large gathering of spectators and sports lovers from the district and adjoining areas.

J&K Police reiterated its commitment to supporting and empowering youth, assuring that more inclusive and encouraging sporting events will be organised in the future.(KINS)
