On Monday, Israel ordered a full blockade of the Gaza Strip, home to more than 2 million people, stopping supplies of water, food and fuel.
A spokesperson for the Palestinian Health Ministry said on Thursday that Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip left some 1,200 people dead and around 5,600 wounded.
