A defamation case has been filed in a local court against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his “illiterate” remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The case was filed in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Vijay Kishore Singh by an advocate Ravi Bhushan Prasad Verma who in his petition alleged that Kejriwal had called Prime Minister Modi, an illiterate person after decision was taken to withdraw Rs 2000 note from circulation. The ‘illiterate’ remark was highly defamatory and derogatory for the Prime Minister, he stressed in the petition.
