Delhi High Court Issues Notice To HRD Ministry And Ministry Of Law

The Delhi High Court has issued notice to Ministry of Human Resources Development (HRD) and Ministry of Law for uniform education. The notice was issued by a bench comprising Chief Justice G Rohini and Justice Jayant Nath on a PIL filed by BJP leader and advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay. The next hearing in the matter will take place on August 16.
delhi-high-court-31-1464692596Upadhyay prayed for direction to provide uniform education having common syllabus and common curriculum to all the children aged 6-14 years throughout the territory of India in spirit of the Article 21A read with Article 14 and 15 of the Constitution of India. Mr. Upadhyay also prayed for an authoritative textbook on ‘Environment, Health and Safety’, a standard textbook on ‘Socialism, Secularism and Nationalism’ and a reliable textbook ‘Aims and Objectives of the Constitution’ having chapters on Fundamental Rights, Fundamental Duties, Directives Principles and the Golden Goals as set out in the Preamble of the Constitution for all the children aged 6-14 years. Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay is Spokesperson of BJP Delhi and Advocate of Supreme Court. The object of the Right to Education is to provide equitable qualify education to ensure equal opportunity for all the children aged 6-14 years. Fundamental Right of Education cannot be discriminately made available on the basis of child social-economic-cultural background. Tamilandu is the only State, which has implemented Uniform Education in spirit of the United Nation Convention on Right of Child (1990) and in consonance with Article 21A read with Article 14 and 15 of the Constitution.(Agencies)
