According to an order issued by the Home department, Vaid’s services were placed at the disposal of the general administration department for his further posting as the transport commissioner.
Dilbag Singh, the director general of Prisons, shall hold the charge of the post of DGP in addition to his own duties till a regular arrangement is made, the order issued late in the evening, read.
In a separate order, the general administration department posted Vaid as transport commissioner with headquarters at Jammu.
The post of transport commissioner has been declared equivalent to the status and responsibility of the post of DGP, it said Earlier this week, Dr B Srinivas replaced Abdul Gani Mir as head of the criminal investigation department, the intelligence wing of the Jammu and Kashmir police.
