Srinagar, March 11 (UNI) An encounter broke out between the security forces and militants in Kashmir on Friday, security officials said.
The encounter erupted at Chewakalan area of Zadoora, Pulwama after joint forces launched a cordon-and-search operation against militants after an input.
” As the security forces zeroed on the hiding militants opened fire, triggering an encounter which is underway,” they said.
Police said security forces are on the job.
The encounter erupted a day after two local Lashkar-e-Toiba militants were killed in a gunfight. Three soldiers were also wounded in the Thursday encounter.
