Farmer, son electrocuted in Ghazipur

A man and his son were electrocuted after a high-tension electricity line fell on their farm while they were irrigating it in Mohammadabad area of Ghazipur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, police sources said here.

Police sources said that Shivtahal Yadav (50), a resident of Chaubepur village, along with his son Anil (22) was irrigating his farm in the morning. “During this the overhead high tension line got snapped and fell in the farm due to which Shivtahal and Ajay were electrocuted and died on the spot,” they said.

After receiving the information, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mohammadabad along with Circle Officer and other officers reached the spot. “Now only Shivtahal’s wife Mirja Devi, three daughters Sheela, Pramila and Dharmshila are left in the family of the deceased farmer,” sources said.
