“It was not free as minimal fee was charged from the students. From yesterday (Monday), it is now completely free,” Sethi said, in reply to Davender Singh Rana.

NC leader and MLA Nagrota, Rana questioned announcement made by the government in the Budget tabled by the finance minister Dr Haseeb A Drabu. “Fee is not being paid by the children even today,” Rana said, while pointing toward Priya Sethi, who nodded.

However, the MoS later rose up from the Treasury Benches, saying that the minimal fee was paid by the students.

“It was never free. Rs 56 were charged for students till primary and 100 till Middle. But from yesterday, it is now completely free,” she said.(Agencies)
