Five persons, including four of a family, were killed when a motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Sehramau Dakshini area of Shahjahanpur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a police officer said here.
Circle Officer (CO) Sadar Amit Chaurasiya said that the incident took place near Dilawarpur village on Shahjahanpur-Lucknow state highway when the motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle. “Raghuveer (35), a resident of Jaitipur, his wife Jyoti (30), children Abhi (3), Krishna (5) and sister-in-law Julie (35) were killed in the incident,” he said.
He said that Raghuveer along with his family had gone to attend a marriage in Shahabad area and was returning home when the incident took place in the wee hours. “All the victims sustained serious head injuries and died on the spot,” he said.
The CO said that the bodies have been sent for post mortem examination and the matter is being investigated.
