Sirsa (Haryana), April 17 (UNI) The last rites of 27-year-old Jawan Nishan Singh, who died in the line of duty in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district, were performed at his native village Bahauddin in Haryana’s Sirsa district on Sunday evening.
Nishan Singh was posted as Lance Naik in 14 Sikh LI Regiment.
On Saturday, the Army had launched an anti-terror operation around 2.30 pm in which Nishan Singh was shot in the chest. He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Srinagar where doctors declared him brought dead.
His mortal remains were brought to his native village Bahauddin in Haryana via air.
Singh joined the Army in 2013. He got married to Ramandeep just two months back, his family members said.
