The Jammu and Kashmir administration on Tuesday decided to cease the operation of Lakhanpur toll post from tomorrow.
According to the wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), an order by the Finance department under number ET/Estt/125/2015, dated 31-12-2019 reads that the government of J&K Union Territory has decided to cease the operation of Lakhanpur toll plaza from January 01, 2020.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 4 of the Jammu and Kashmir Levy of Tolls Act, Samvat. 1995, (Act No. VIII of 1995), the Government of Jammu and Kashmir hereby directs that the Toll post established at Lakhanpur, District Kathua under the provisions of the said Act, shall cease to operate January 1, 2020,” the order reads.
