Jammu, April 16 (UNI) The Special Judge NIA Suneet Gupta on Saturday granted one month judicial custody of Ex-Minister Jatinder Singh alias Babu Singh and Mohammad Shareef Shah in alleged Hawala Trade and sent them to Kot-Bhalwal Jail.
Court while granting judicial remand of Ex-Minister and his associate observed that the present application has been filed by the Investigating Officer, Sachit Sharma, Deputy Superintendent of Police, SDPO South Jammu before the court for grant of judicial remand through virtual mode.
Court after perusal of remand application revealed that the accused persons were arrested on April 9 and March 31 respectively in the mentioned case.
On the basis of allegations the accused has been booked and remained in police custody for a period of seven days and no further police remand of the accused is required.
“Now, by way of present application, IO has sought judicial remand of the accused for a period of 30 days,” said the Court and after hearing IO, observed that the offences attributable to the accused are heinous in nature and investigation of the case is still going on, hence the accused is remanded to the judicial custody for 30 days from April 16 to May 15.
“During the period of judicial remand the accused shall be kept in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu while the Jail Superintendent Central is directed to produce the accused before the NIA Court on May 15 on the completion of the judicial remand,” it said.
