Hurriyat (G) on Monday announced that they will reward students who have secured top 20 positions in the 10th class examinations, results of which were declared last evening.

In a statement issued here today, the amalgam, quoting its chairman Syed Ali Geelani, congratulated all the students and made special reference to Ghalib, son of Afzal Guru, who has secured 20th position.

“Geelani Sahab said that the performance of our children in studies despite living in a worst kind of conflict zone of the world is very encouraging and praiseworthy,” the statement said.

“…But the foreign occupation, political uncertainty and instability in this region have badly affected the children of Kashmir, and the Indian military occupation has created many psychological disorders in the state.”

“I personally feel extraordinary joy that despite all these adverse situations, our children who have been orphaned by the Indian occupational forces are excelling in the field of education,” added Geelani.
