I-Day: Jammu ADGP stresses on anti-drone measures, augmenting border deployment grid

Taking a security review ahead of Independence Day, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh on Wednesday stressed on anti-drone measures and augmentation of border deployment grid.

Singh while convening a meeting with sister concern agencies of security, para-military forces and civil administration in the run-up to August 15, discussed the security arrangements.

The top officers briefed him on the security front regarding proposed deployment by District Police and Security wing at and around the Independence Day venue in Jammu district.

Thereafter, a detailed briefing was given by all officers present in the meeting on the overall security assessment and emerging threats while a threadbare discussion was held on each and every input shared by the intelligence agencies.

The ADGP highlighted the latest trends in terror activities and urged each agency to work towards mitigating the threat.

He stressed on anti-drone measures, border deployment grid, security of Police, Army establishments, launching of offensive operations especially in Rajouri-Poonch and Doda-Kishtwar 0 Ramban Range besides preventive measures in other districts.

Joint nakas at vulnerable locations and at inter district boundaries were also stressed upon and while maintaining a high level of alertness and preparing for the occasion, he stressed that peaceful conduct of ongoing Amar Nath Yatra should also be ensured.

Singh also stressed on implementing the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” programme and suggested organizing ‘Tiranga’ Rallies at important locations in district Headquarters Sub-Division level, Police station level and with the participation of civil administration involving students of colleges and schools.
