Israel is continuing its military offensive against Iran “with full force,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday, confirming the killing of a top Iranian naval commander in a targeted strike.
In a video message posted on social media, Netanyahu announced that Israeli forces had eliminated Alireza Tangsiri, the naval commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), describing him as a key figure behind efforts to close the Strait of Hormuz.
“This individual had a great deal of blood on his hands,” Netanyahu said, adding that the operation reflects ongoing coordination between Israel and the United States in pursuing shared strategic objectives.
The remarks come amid intensifying hostilities between the two countries, with Iran claiming it has targeted strategic Israeli infrastructure in Haifa using drones, including fuel storage facilities and maritime assets.
The escalating conflict has raised fears of a broader regional war, as diplomatic efforts struggle to keep pace with rapid military developments.
