Police in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday claimed to have busted a network of over ground workers (OGW) of Jaish-e-Muhammad militant outfit in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

“Handwara police busted an OGW network of JeM outfit by arresting three of its members. They were identified as Ghulam Nabi Lone @ Prince son of Abdul Rehman resident of Udipora Langate, Umar Mushtaq Mir son of Mushtaq Ahmad resident of Yaroo Langate and Ishfaq Ahmad Parray son of Ghulam Ahmad Parray resident of Mandigam,” said a police spokesman.

The network, he said, was operating in Handwara since April 2015.

“They were involved in various subversive activities and hell-bent to target political workers, security installations and police establishments. These persons were providing logistic support to the JeM militants and were close associates of a top Commander of JeM outfit. They were planning to do something big in Handwara,” said the spokesman.(Agencies)
