Jammu Court dismisses bail application of ex-minister in Hawala Case

Jammu, April 19 (UNI) Jammu Chief Judicial Magistrate, Amarjeet Singh Langeh on Tuesday dismissed the bail application of Ex-Minister Jatinder Singh alias Babu Singh in Hawala case.
As per police report, the applicant is allegedly involved in offences under sections 13, 17, 18 of ULAP (special statute).
It needs to be noted that it is the special court which has jurisdiction to entertain any matter arising out of aforesaid special statute, including this application.
The Special Judge NIA Suneet Gupta on April 16 granted one month judicial custody of Ex-Minister and his aide Mohammad Shareef Shah in alleged Hawala Trade and sent them to Kot-Bhalwal Jail.
Court after perusal of remand application revealed that the accused persons were arrested on April 9 and March 31 respectively in the mentioned case.
“During the period of judicial remand the accused shall be kept in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu while the Jail Superintendent Central is directed to produce the accused before the NIA Court on May 15 on the completion of the judicial remand,” it said.
On April 9, police arrested the former minister who was absconding in the Hawala money case from Kathua district.
“He (Ex Minister) escaped soon after three persons were detained with hawala money on March 31,” a senior police official said.
On March 31, Jammu Police arrested one person with hawala money and detained three for questioning but former minister Babu Singh, who tasked him was absconding.
The Hawala money of Rs 6.90 lakhs meant for subversive activities in Jammu district was seized.
On questioning, the arrested person identified as Shareef Shah disclosed that he was tasked by former minister, Jatinder Singh alias Babu Singh, Kathua, who was also the Chairman of Nature – Mankind Friendly Global Party, to collect money from one Omer at Srinagar.
The accused Mohammad Shareef was also admin of a secret whatsapp group having members including but not limited to Pakistanis and Saudis.
