Jammu Police have arrested a couple with contraband of narcotics in Bishnah area here in the city outskirts.
A police spokesperson today said in a move to clamp down on the rising threat of narcotics, the police apprehended a man and his wife with contraband of heroin.
The arrested were identified as Amjad Khan alias Taiya and his wife Shamshad Akhter alias Putti from the drug hotspot of Sakinderpur Kothey Bishnah. The seizure led to the recovery of about 22.45 grams of heroin from their possession.
A case has been registered under relevant sections and investigation started.
The police have appealed to the citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drugs in their locality.
