J&K: Army foils Infil bid in Rajouri’s Jhangar, Army Commander reviews security

Alert troops of Indian Army on Monday successfully foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Jhangar sector of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Official sources said that troops noticed a suspicious movement along the Line of Control in Jhangar area of Rajouri following which they sounded alert.

As per reports, they also fired a few rounds to foil the attempt near the LoC, adding, “the search operation is being carried out in the area.”

Meanwhile Northern Command Army Commander, Lt Gen Upendra Dwivedi, also visited the forward battalion in Rajouri Sector to review the security and operational preparedness.

“The Army Commander interacted with troops, felicitated and complemented them for their vigilance and high level of professionalism,” said the official.

However, one Army personnel was also injured in a landmine explosion near the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Monday.
