Jammu, (UNI): A three-day snow carnival is going to be hosted by the Bhaderwah Development Authority in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir from Friday. The carnival is being hosted in collaboration with the Indian Army, Mountaineering and Winter Sports and the Bhaderwah Campus, University of Jammu.
However, a 50-member team comprising participants and officials from the Jammu University on Thursday also left for Jai Ghati in Bhaderwah to participate in the Carnival. Sharing details, Director, Department of Bachelors in Physical Education (BP.Ed), Dr Daud Iqbal Baba said that the event is being hosted with an aim to boost adventurous sports and tourism in Jammu Province.
“Jammu University has added adventure sports into its curriculum and as a part of this exercise, the contingent will be taking part in the Snow Carnival from Feb 18 to 20 at Bhaderwah,” said Baba.
He expressed that it will not only boost adventure sports but also increase tourist footfall in the region. Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, Prof Manoj K Dhar along with Director, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba and other dignitaries flagged off the JU team here.
