Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir chapter of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to try its luck for filling the prevailing vacuum in the newly carved out Union Territory (UT) especially Kashmir where political activities have come to a grinding halt. The party has started “Nou Sanz”—a new beginning to build a close contact with the people across the UT to ensure “immediate and early redressal of public grievances.”

According to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the party on the directions of high command in New Delhi will launch Nou Sanz—a new beginning ,  an initiative to build a gap between party and the people. “Under the new initiative, at least two senior BJP leaders will camp in blocks across J&K and listen to the public grievances related to roads, water, electricity etc. The leaders will note down all the demands and apprise the same to party high command,” said a senior BJP leader, wishing not to be named. He said Nou Sanz will be launched on March 12 across J&K.

He said the party high command will simultaneously take serious note of the issues confronting people of J&K at the block and district level and accordingly submit the demands to the Central ministers for immediate redressal.

“This way, we will be able to stay in touch with common citizens. The aim is to take the governance at the door steps of people of J&K, first time after abrogation of Article 370,” he said. BJP leader and J&K UT spokesman Altaf Thakur said that the list of leaders, who would camp in blocks and districts will be announced in the days ahead.  “The big aim of Nou Sanz is to ensure people’s issues are addressed at their door steps,” Thakur said
