A brief exchange of fire took place between security forces and terrorists in Basantgarh area of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
“Based on specific intelligence about presence of terrorist, a joint search operation was launched by security forces in Basantgarh Police Station area,” a police spokesman said.
“A contact has been established and few rounds have been fired from both sides and area is cordoned off,” the spokesman said, adding that further details are awaited.
