Police on Tuesday arrested a driver in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on charges of raping a minor girl.
The accused Mohammad Umar Parray of Parray Mohalla Sangri was arrested after a written complaint from the girl.
Police Station Baramulla received written complaint from one minor girl stating therein that she was abducted by Mohammad Umar Parray, a venture driver and raped her at secluded place in Sangri locality.
“On this written complaint, a case FIR was registered in Police Station Baramulla under relevant sections of law.
Police Station Baramulla utilizing all technical and human sources and with strenuous efforts traced the accused and arrested him in the instant case,” a police statement said.
Police said further medico legal formalities were conducted on the girl and further investigation of the case is in progress.
