Police on Monday arrested one Kashmir-based man with contraband heroin in the Chennani area under Udhamupur district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Police sources said that acting on a tip one car from Kashmir towards Jammu was intercepted at the Chenani area checkpoint.
During checking, they said that approximately 700 grams of heroin was recovered from the vehicle following which the man identified as Ashraf, a resident of Kulgam was taken into custody.
A case under relevant sections has been registered and an investigation is taken up.
