J&K LG sacks 2 teachers over 'terror links'

Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today terminated two government teachers for alleged terror links.


The terminated employees included Maajid Iqbal Dar, a resident of Rajouri, and Ghulam Hussain of Reasi.
The employees were dismissed under Article 311(2)(c) of the Constitution, which empowers the government to terminate services without providing an opportunity for explanation or holding an inquiry into their conduct.


“The Lieutenant Governor is satisfied under sub-clause (c) of the proviso to clause (2) of Article 311 of the Constitution of India that, in the interest of the security of the State, it is not expedient to hold an enquiry in the case of Maajid Iqbal Dar, teacher in the School Education Department of Kheora, District Rajouri.

Accordingly, the Lieutenant Governor hereby dismisses Maajid Iqbal Dar from service, with immediate effect,” the order issued by the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department read.


A similar worded dismissal order was issued to Ghulam Hussain of Kalwa Mulass, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi.


Over the past four years, over 80 government employees in J&K have been dismissed under Article 311(2)(C).
