The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested five persons including three females who were allegedly involved in the murder of a woman in Srinagar.
Police said they learnt that a 38-year-old woman, Tasleema Bano, wife of Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar, died at her in-laws’ house in suspicious circumstances on June 27.
The postmortem showed that the death was due to asphyxia or smothering. This led to five arrests, including of three women.
They were identified as Hafeeza Begum, Sumiyaa, Siaqa wife, Parvaiz Ahmad Dar and Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar, the husband of the deceased woman.
