Date:

In a major blow to drug trafficking networks, J&K Police in Anantnag district on Friday attached properties worth approximately Rs 1.2 crore under various provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act

Police said acting under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, they attached a residential house and one kanal of land in Sallar, valued at Rs 70 lakhs, belonging to Bashir Ahmad Wani, involved in a 2018 narcotics case.

In a separate action, police seized a residential house and a vehicle of Tajdar Amin Khan of Goriwan Bijbehara and a shopping complex owned by Bilal Ahmad Itoo of Gund Nasir, Bijbehara.

Additionally, a vehicle owned by Harjinder Singh of Kapurthala, Punjab, was attached in a separate FIR.

“The combined estimated market value of the properties seized in these cases stands at Rs 1.2 Crore,” the Police said

Police said these actions reflect a determined effort to target the financial assets of drug traffickers and serve as a strong deterrent against the narcotics trade.
